What Is the Difference in EPE Foam & EVA Foam?
Both are similar types of closed cell foam, expanded polyethylene (EPE) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foams. One of EVA foam's biggest advantages over EPE is its durability. Average EVA foam density and tear strength values stand at five or more times that of an ordinary EPE foam. Because of their closed-cell structure, both are light weight, high buoyancy and UV resistant, but EVA foams last much longer. This naturally translates to a higher price.
What Is the Difference Between Open Cell versus Closed Cell?
You may be wondering what the difference is between open cell foam and closed cell foam? While open cell foam and closed cell polyurethane foam can both be used for most applications, closed cell foam is stronger and has a higher R-value, and it also has a greater resistance to air and water.
